Here's a song that I made right after I downloaded Famitracker a few weeks ago. I think it could have been a LOT better, but if I made it better, it wouldn't fit the headline, now would it?

Anyways, go ahead and leave some feedback if you want. I don't expect any praise from this one.

Actually, you've managed to pull off some good mood setting in this track. The key you've used for this song is perfect for a horror theme (& this is aside your perfect balance of harmony & discord).

Honestly, my only problem with the track is that you need more volume control in your square channels & one or two note in the triangle channel to create the odd variation to bring this song to life (or unlife, since it's a cemetery track).

Another problem is that you have a lot of redundancy; you have an instrument specifically for volume control in the triangle channel. It's redundant; you can't control the triangle's volume by normal means (it's either 100% or 0% volume). You can, however, use the DPCM channel for this (either with the use of rainwarrior's step-up/down samples, or using the Zxx effect).

Hmm... Never used the DPCM channel. I'll have to give that a shot.

Thanks!

EDIT: Since I fear the DCPM channel so much, I went MMC5 and just added a soft harmonic echo during the lead echo (the part that repeats more than the rest of the song), which is now included here. I'm still playing with DPCM, so don't think I've entirely given up on it. I'm just not ready to post anything that includes DPCM. Ever.

Indeed it is... I think I've decided that I'll put off DPCM research until tomorrow...

In the meanwhile, I feel that you shouldn't use maximum volume in your first 2A03 square channel; dropping the volume down to A instead of F would make it less overpowering.

Here. I also lowered the last two square channels, and the second one during the echo for consistency.
