Do you think it would be a good idea to implement a feature that allows one to import any NSF file in Famitracker?
Yes, it should be made a feature in a future release of Famitracker.

I tried editing something in the old thread and now the poll is gone, and so are the results. >.> So sorry about that!

Here's the original post:
Since I wasn't able to create a poll in the original thread, I'll create it here instead. Vote away!

I don't think the results will mean much at the end of the day, it is still jsr's decision whether to release the feature to the public or not; but at least it'll make it clear how many are for it and how many are against it. Maybe if there's an overwhelming percentage of aye's it'll happen, who knows!
I encourage you to continue the discussion where it was left off. Again, I'm very sorry about this.

AND AGAIN, without hesitation I re-cast my vote to have this implemented in a future release of FamiTracker, that is..., if HE feels like it

And once again, I say external application.

This means progress on FT isn't halted much and it can become its own tool. MEANING WE GET IT FASTER.

What I'm hearing when I read this question is "Should a feature that's sure to be completely useless be added to FamiTracker?" In which case the answer is a clear 'no'.

Useless how? I just spent an hour showing somebody how to do the instruments in Rygar, using nsf2midi+anvil studio. Would have taken 1 minute with this feature.

Haven't you ever wanted a certain sound but not been able to recreate it?

Wow, I didn't expect opinions to be so divergent.

I changed my vote with the new poll, to be honest. I went for yes/external app. That way it means FT progress doesn't necessarily get halted, and it also means someone else can do it if jsr decides not to.

As for those who consider the feature useless, well I am flummoxed... o.O

A no vote doesn't mean you think it's useless.

Oh I wasn't implying that. Oh no. I was referring to furrykef's post, plus a couple other people I spoke to privately who told me more or less the same. :o

My vote was 'No', but actually it means this:

No, I do not think this is a priority for now. It could be made a feature in a future release of Famitracker, *if it is already done by jsr, so he only need to include it into a release*. Otherwise, it could be made as an external application instead, *and anyone actually can do it right now or in the future*.
