Is there any way to fix this? The wiki only has an unhelpful "Try to update sound card drivers.". Is this a known issue (assuming so based on the wiki)?
increase buffer length, make sure the device being used is actually the correct one, make sure that when you double click the "volume" button on the taskbar that FT isn't muted
The issue mentioned in the wiki was a common issue for all the legacy (developed for 9x/XP) sound programs under Win7. Sometimes you just can't get stable sound no matter how large the buffer is. Updating sound drivers can help in this case. Maybe it was fixed in the system since.
For example, 128 and 129ms makes "play" do nothing for me. Odd.
Same thing happens for me too. I haven't seen this earlier, odd indeed.
It looks like Win7 High Definition audio driver doesn't work well with Famitracker. I had the same problem, installed the audio driver that came with the motherboard, and everything's all right now.
I'm using windows 7 and I have sort of a strange range of working buffers. 1-20 milliseconds won't work at all. 21-100 work perfectly with no cuts in audio. 101-132 also do not work at all. And as far as I know, 133 and everything above work fine.
1-20 milliseconds might not work because that's tiny.
EDIT: I've tried 20-100 on my computer, which is capable of being a small server(which I actually use it as), and 71-73 didn't work. And this was back when I had literally just finished setting up all of my mandatory software and didn't run a server on here yet. Plus below 71 had very high rate of audio buffer overloads. And then 123 is what I have it at now.
