I contacted mr. ippo yamada and showed him my "tributes" to his pride and joy. I got a response a week later ..saying this:
Thanks for your message. I listened to your great efforts and was much impressed. Although I can not comment anything officially on due to my position in Inti Creates, keep doing your best without exposures to Capcom!
I'm on to you mr. yamada, being impressed but not allowed to officially comment. I suppose I'll simply respond with "I just wanted to hear your new rockman music on the real 2a03.. so I remade it all from ear. I'm glad you enjoyed. thank you for years of chiptuned awesomeness!"
On a slightly different note: After review of my Megaman 10 FTM, I really wish I could go back and fix some of the wrong notes that are in there, and fix some rhythmic problems. I guess I should get a computer again.
I loved your Mega Man 10 FTM recreation, and congratulations on the response from Yamada. Keep on making chiptunes, and I'll be happy to listen to them, as well as probably all of us on the forum.

yeah it's sad how lots of composers are under strict NDAs and can't talk to you about... well, anything apparently. i contacted Yousuke Yasui a while back asking about clarification of the mega man battle network soundtrack, wanting to know who composed what, and he wasn't allowed to say anything. sux of course, it could have been used as an excuse but i doubt that's the case, seems most of the time japanese artists are happy to speak to you but aren't always able.
of course, it makes it extra special when you do get a positive and open reply like that. indeed, very cool. and well-deserved too, you did a fantastic job with covering the games in NSF form (to the point where i deleted the mp3s.)
Hey guys. Thanks for the nice comments, I appreciate it.
I will probably get back into music a bit more in a bit.. I'm taking a very long hiatus to work on myself (physically and mentally)..
In the mean time I may post an "updated" Mega Man 10 FTM, and perhaps maybe even complete my Mega Man 9 FTM..if I find time.
@Dave, knowing someone actually AXED the original MP3s just for my NSF is a huge honour. Thanks!
@TechEmporium Dunno if that's a compliment but I will take it that way. Lol. Thanks.
@Nintendodude8 who'd be jealous?
@Bradley Thank you! I will do my best in the future, maybe even make a "Mega Man Medley x10" (It'll basically be the regular mega man medley with MM10 instrumentation and an MM10 song added in, with some fixes that I've always meant to do)
Yeah, I'm a bit late with this post, but the replies are well deserved considering all the effort you put into the music. Ippo Yamada was no doubtedly impressed with your efforts as well, since he said so himself.
Can't wait for your return to the 2A03 music scene. Of course, take your time. It looks like you've got your priorities in check, speaking on the "hiatus" comment. This stuff is a bit time consuming, going from experience.
On the side of the Mega Man 10 FTM:
That's still an excellent piece of work, there! And if you are uploading an update of the FTM, since a while ago you said anyone could fix any problems they find, I was actually in the process of correcting a few things with the noise channel in the beggining of Sheep Man's theme, and a few things with the square channel in Nitro Man and Commando Man's theme. Don't take this as nitpicking, I'm just wondering if I could help out. I might leave it to you, though.
Keep up the good work!

Take care all.[/quote]
If you'd like, tssf, you can merge your ftm with one I started a while ago for Mega Man 9. It has a few songs completed that yours didn't have yet (Galaxy Man, Hornet Man, staff roll). Also, rational tempos.
