'Sup. I'm Tanks. Most forums frown on introduction threads so I'll make it quick. I mess around with looping and am especially good with the Wii's BRSTM format (sorta' pioneered it with Brawl and all...). I met DalekSam on a forum and he made a few requests for me to loop some of his NSF/VOPM work. After becoming increasingly more interested in his work, I taught myself, with the help of DalekSam of course, the basics of Famitracker.

Anyway, here are the results of my little 2 day project to teach myself. I pretty much provided the entire tune and DalekSam cleaned up my instruments, even taking the liberty to add in an FDS channel (something I have yet to work with) for more awesome.

I've got 3 versions here:
Barebones NES version (because I kinda' have this urge to work on a Pokemon NES game some day), an FDS version, and an FDS version without the noise channel because it just sounds better without it.

Let me know what you think. I might just start thinking about making my own compositions and all.

Welcome to the forums! These covers sound good. My only issue is the constant vibrato (and you can even hear the square wave noise at the beginning due to the vibrato). But overall, this is great for a first, good job!

You should post the FTM file next time you post a song.

And, nice cover. I definitely think you should compose your own music.

Also, I think that there's already a pokemon NES game. I'll check a dependable rom site.

There's a Chinese pirate which, to be quite honest, blows chunks. Also sure, I'll get the ftms up if you want them.

No FTM makes me a sad panda.

Nice cover though! Just one thing: using vibrato on note A-3 (amongst others) is usually a big no-no, because there's a bug in the 2a03 that resets the phase of the square channels when pitch sweeps between certain frequencies. Just so you know.

Oh yeah, welcome to the forums!

Upped the FTMs for y'all. Also, I'll take a look at the vibrato issue and see what I can do.

EDIT: Oops. The non-FDS ftm is a tad early and does not have the vibrato or the new snare. I can't seem to find the final in the clutter here so I guess it'll do for now. I'll up it once I get ahold of it.

EDIT x2: le fixed~

I've made a small edit to this removing the vibrato commands and cleaned up the snare and more volume control.

Also nice to see you here, though you should have said which forum as well. :P

I discovered that using P82 on every A-3 note made the glitch disappear. The pitch difference is slightly audible, but not enough that it makes the tune worse.

Here's the FDS+Noise version with the glitch averted.

Awesome. That certainly did the trick. So all it was was a bit of pitch adjustment huh?

Yeah, basically you want to avoid sweeping between the two frequency registers that cause the glitch to happen.

Here's a new Pokemon GSC one. This time it's Dark Cave. Biggest issue I need to fix is volume and probably tweak the FDS bass a bit more.
