First time posting here. So.. I've read the help file, and I've read the wiki page on the Fxx effect. There must be something I'm missing, because it's not doing what I feel like it should be doing pretty simply. Here's my problem:
The song's speed is set to 12, tempo 150 (in the boxes). There's a point in the song where I want it to double-time, so I set Fxx to F06. This works just fine and doubles the speed just like I want. However, when I try to "reset" the speed and put it back at 12, setting Fxx at F12 makes it waaaay slower than it originally played.
Is there some way to just tell the Fxx effect to stop doing what it's doing, thereby returning to the "base" speed? Or do I positively have to give it a new value? And if that's the case, why doesn't setting Fxx at F12 give me my original speed, and instead a far slower speed?
I feel like I'm missing something extremely simple.
So maybe a dumb question, but what exactly does "speed" mean, anyway? And for that matter and what's the difference between that and the higher values of Fxx (tempo?)?

Essentially its how much frames there are in one frame. It's how the whole method of rational tempo works, basically, since it will sound a lot more 'rational' with the tempo not jittering randomly on rows.

Assuming you're using tempo = 150 (which I find most practical in pretty much any situation).
Otherwise, the formula is (tempo * 6) / speed. Ergo, if you're using tempo = 100 and speed = 8, then:
