I am Tommittaja, i play guitar most of my time ;D
i enjoy retro- and indiegames a lot.
so i yesterday i decided to take up chipmaking, and i found this awesome tracker.. i watched a couple tutorials on how to make arpeggios, slides, drums and how to separate frames.
not before this one though ;D
but here's my first chip i've done.
soo yeah. the first segment is pretty standard, so is the second.
the third one is just going through the C-major anyways. fourth is thrills.
and i just realized it has the same melody as heart and soul :D

I can tell what kind of guitar player you are haha
Not great, not bad.
So far I can't hear any specific tracking style. Hopefully as you continue your chiptuning journey your own style will come to fruition. Try using only blank instruments for a while to really get a feel for how the NES works. Especially take into consideration the fact that there's 6 frames for every 16th note.

...at speed 6, tempo 150. FamiTracker defines a beat (as far as BPM is concerned) as four rows, and a song's overall BPM is determined by the formula 6 * tempo / speed, so if you leave the tempo at 150, then the speed value will always be how many frames (generally 60ths of a second, just in case that wasn't clear) each row of your song will get.
This means that at speed 1, tempo 150, a song will be 900 BPM, or 15 beats per second, or 60 rows per second... or, at the standard CPU speed of 60 Hz, one row every frame. It can be handy to track at 900 BPM in order to be very accurate with covers and stuff like that.
I hope this helps and is neither too obvious nor too obtuse.

"i can tell what kind of a guitar player you are"
.. no you can't. ;D try and guess but you can't.
this was just a test, so no complex stuff there.
..i'm making a more dungeon-ish kind of song now :P
ps: my guitarist style.. i usually play progressive instrumental rock. i like really weird solos and chord progressions ;D i'm making my own album also.. it's called "Dudetorium".
i personally hate that kind of a progression, (and yet i could've done Am - Fmaj - Cmaj - Emaj) but for a first, i was a bit lazy to do anything new and refreshing.
but if you did guess, tell me

how do you get those extra tracks anyways? not that i need them, just curious.
...i could work on something new today, something totally different.
i tried doing a Jill off cover but the bass line goes lower than the chip can do ;D can't.
E: anyone mind if i do the bassline one octave up? goddamn... i guess i'll just do a song of my own. an actual original this time, not just some cheesy c major thingy :D
