Well I tried something new for this post. An NES version of the "Angry Birds" theme.
This one was a bit different because I went from a syphonic-type recording to the NES's sound chip. Naturally, some things had to be cut, some things fudged, and some things turned out well. Overall, it's a completed song but it's likely a little rough around the edges, but I probably won't get to work on it for a while.
Therefore, I've decided to go ahead and post it in its "rough draft" form for all to enjoy and/or improve at your leisure. NSF and FTM are both uploaded for your convenience.
Excellent work! I like it very much! The pattern organisation is a bit off (the first 4 rows of every pattern belong to the previous one). I can't find anything I don't like about this. Sounds cute!

EDIT: I just gave the original a listen. Wow! You really did succeed in capturing the NES feel and applying it to your original material!

Thanks for the kind words. I tried to take the original and make it as close to what I would envision an NES version of the game being (and in doing so it made me wish there were such a thing).
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by the first 4 rows of every pattern belonging to the previous, but if you can enlighten me with an example, I'll take it back to the workshop and tinker on it some more and see what pops out.

Your advice, however, I did understand and I took it and agree. The "| 0 0 7 7" pattern does mellow out the tune. No new upload just yet since that's an easy change and I've already provided the ftm. But after I play with the other stuff a bit I might upload a new version that hopefully gets a little closer to the original.

It's more of an organisational thing really; it doesn't affect the quality of the piece. What I meant is that every row 00, 01, 02 and 03 of every frame should in fact be row 60, 61, 62 of 63 of the frame before it. Or, in musical terms, the first half of a beat of every measure should in fact be the last half of a beat of the previous measure. Am I making myself any clearer? It doesn't feel like I am... o.o
