the point is that the DPCM editor can be exploited? it's a cover, is there a point to any cover?

The point of any cover is to show people what you can do when you take other people's ideas and add your own pinch of creativity to it (mainly). Difference is, you didn't create anything here, you just sampled the original tune (or at least I presume so). We already know the DPCM channel can be exploited; people have been there before. I'd like to point out that this forum is called "Show off YOUR work", after all.

You're more than welcome to post your tunes, but this? Come on.

Well the original audio is not sampled from a different song. It is sampled from various video clips pitch shifted to the same tune as the original song, thus recreating it from scratch. Then it was exported to a .wav and imported into FamiTracker. Honestly this took a bit more time and effort than it should have.

Ah. Perhaps a more thorough explanation would have avoided this misunderstanding then. Care to share the original WAV?

Okay, Mex. How are we supposed to export this into an NSF?

You're technically not supposed to; Mex's only using the FTM file container to distribute the music. You can't export the NSF because the project has more samples than any ROM file can hold; this results in the NSF muting itself out once the intro samples are played.

This said, I like the idea of using the DPCM channel exclusively to play a tune. This is actually clever (if only the NES' specs could actually tolerate the amount of samples in storage).
