Yeah! The best song (ironically) out of the 3 SNES games has been MMC5'd!!!

Ironic yet true. Great work!

One little nitpick though, I think it's missing the chords or harmony or whatever it's called in frames 05-08.

I tried to do it myself to show you, but I did it from memory, so the notes could be totally wrong.

You're right. There is one more channel that could've been added, but I left it out. If this were VRC6, it would have been there. That last channel is the one with the harmony, but adding it to 2a03 square 2 makes the echo feel inconsistent, that's why I left it out. Good memory ya got thar, and thanks. I'd make a VRC6 version, but I need to let that expansion get a rest this time =P

Hehe, yeah. My covers aren't usually very "consistent" in the way you're talking about it. If I feel something needs to be there, I sacrifice something I feel is less important :P.

Well, I'm not saying it's bad. I rather like your edit to square 2 tbh. It just kinda loses it's flow. It's a good idea, and I too sacrifice certain parts for more important ones depending on the situation, but since I had enough channels to get what I wanted into the song, I felt that the fourth channel from the SNES version could just be left out entirely. It would be nice to have that channel in there, but with VRC6 it would sound completely different than what I was after and probably really muddy sounding as well.

Wouldn't you technically need 2 more channels to properly add that part? One for the harmony and the other for the harmony's echo.

Nope. The harmony had no echo =P
One channel was the entire main melody and another was dedicated soley to the melody echo. One for the bass, one for hihats and cymbal crashes, one for drums and 2 for grunge choir. That's 7 in all. The 8th and final channel was a sort of trumpet sounding harmony, which was the one left out.

Oh odd, I think I remember a few MMX songs usually changing the echo track to the harmony track and then back again once it's done. Not that that way is too surprising either. Also, sorry for turning this topic into a chatroom xD.

Yeah, some of them do. I guess this theme is rebellious. I'm listening to that harmony right now and I gotta say... I might just take out some of that grunge and add that channel instead. Expect a new version =P

Edit: Nevermind. There are way too many notes interfering with other notes from the 2a03 melody and the MMC5 backups.

Edit 2: Ok, for all who prefer it, I have added the harmony to the last portion of the song replacing the square 2 echo. It has been ironed out and I also added some volume control so that it doesn't sound so strong.
