Okay, I hereby present what I consider to be my greatest work so far....

I'm applying to the renowned B.A. Game Design program at the prestigious DigiPen Institute of Technology for this fall. The application asks for a few essays and an optional art portfolio, but I decided to go above and beyond what they've asked for. I'll present the application to them as an elaborate website. As I don't have a very large art portfolio, I have written a soundtrack to my application — in FT, of course. Each page of the site has its own song, and there's a Title Theme and an "Ending Theme," too. I figure maybe I can make up for not having a great art portfolio by showing creative talent in another way.

All the songs are contained on this FTM, along with the few sound effects I'm using around the site.

EDIT: Uploaded updated FTM, added NSFe file.
EDIT: Renamed staff roll theme from Resolution to Acceptance. Inserted track names into FTM. Uploaded updated FTM and NSFE files.

Wow, very impressive indeed! Your soundtrack sounds very professional. Tracks #1, #6 and #9 are my personal favourites.

There are a few specific things I can think of that could be improved, like certain chord progressions in tracks #5 and #7. One place in particular from track #5 doesn't quite sound jazzy enough for the style you were going for - in my opinion at least.

Overall, excellent work sir! I am impressed.

EDIT: There seems to be a problem with the Qxx command in the FDS in track #9, in 0.3.7 beta. Did you write this in 0.3.6? If so, better report that bug the bug reports section...

Gaah, you're right. Yes, I wrote this in 0.3.6. Well, I'll report that. And thanks for the praise.

My own personal favorite is the ending theme. It's the only reason that the FTM file uses the FDS expansion. I was going to use a few different unique-sounding instruments in it, but ultimately I decided to just stick with FDS copies of the existing 2A03 waveforms.

Dude this was awesome. Staff Roll was the best piece in my opinion, love the judicious use of timpani throughout. That jazzy section in the middle is great as well. Great job.

While listening through the tracks, some tracks put an inexplicable smile on my face. I especially like "Optional Essay." Best of luck on your application.

It's like a sub-college. They teach you how to program in C++ and program video games. I actually offered to do music for their games if I got accepted into their program and they said I could.

Dang, you'll be getting in for sure :P. You did wonderful work on all of these tracks. They sounded very professional while retaining that old classic style.

Thank you, Kuro. Also, jrlepage, please do feel free to let me know what specific changes you would make. I am happy to say that I'm very satisfied with this music, and am glad to consider it done, but I would like to know what you would have done differently, perhaps only out of curiosity.

...That said, I did make a couple of super minor adjustments, like the voicing of the final chord, and the addition of just a few more timipani notes. I'll edit the original post with the new version.

...And oh, also, I made an NSFe of it all! I'll throw that in there too.

This is better than what I could ever write. The stuff I write seriously sounds like it's from a pirated game. Then again, I'm young too, so I'm a little new to it.
