Been a while since I've uploaded anything here. I've actually been working on a lot of songs, but only a few are finished. Most of the time, I've been experimenting on other sound styles with original songs, trying to distance myself from the Capcom style a little. I'll upload that project here later. For now, though, I need an opinion on one song here(hence the topic name). This one is going back to the Capcom style a bit, but here's where I need an opinion... or two:
First, the module has 3 songs, but 1 and 2 are the same(and new). I want to know if I should keep the speed of song 1, or slow it down to the speed of song 2's version.
Second, Does this sound more like a password song, or a shop theme? Or maybe something else altogether?
Song 3 is just me experimenting with a higher pitched lead melody. In fact, this song was created last year sometime, and it coincidentally shares some similarities with song 1 as far as duty cycle. I have another song that has more variety, but I'm not quite finished with it yet. I'm letting people here this song now. There are quite a few songs that I've made that won't ever see the light of day, and some that will make the cut for a new project. Feel free to comment on this one as well, if you want. Thanks for listening!
So, since you've said the slower version is better, it's now a split decision. Elsewhere, someone said the speed up version is better. I'll take what you said into account, though.
@Mex:
LOL, yeah, I try to add some goofy things sometimes to my songs... perhaps that was a bit too goofy, though. Working with the 2A03 alone, you can't always get the sound you want. I'll change it up later, when I have the chance. Song 3 actually had a bit more to it, but I just took this part and used it. The instruments are part Darkwing Duck, and Mega Man 3, with a little modification of my own.
