Even though I'm having fun with this one, I gotta put it down. Gotta work on other stuff still
But yeah...
Does hardware/NSF format support having the FDS instrument switch back and forth that quickly? Or is it a similar case to not having more than 1 custom VRC7 patch playing at the same time?

Haha, I guess no one here listens to f'ed up psytrance.
I swear it sounded better in my headphones.
RE: kick: but if you take a look at the DPCM samples, you'll see I can't get any louder without clipping. The only thing I can think of is to lower the volume of the FDS a ton.

It's like you're playing cantible bowing for a baroque piece.
Which isn't to say that a gabber kick (well, the way the bass ramps up in volume at least) can't work for this style.
But it is louder indeed.
[edit:]
Gave it a listen in 'phones. The kick's bass definitely overpowers the psytrance bass now
But my FDS does look very similar to the waveforms Infected Mushroom are capable of putting out: [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLWXSsYJoWY&t=260]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLWXSsYJoWY&t=260
As versatile as the FDS channel is, I'd never use it for something like this (especially knowing how waveforms can build up their total amplitude into one huge, ear-popping wave).
