VRC7 = hardmode

I'm having such a hard time producing decent instruments for it...

Oh well. This is my latest experiment with it. It's still a WIP: instruments aren't final (anybody who can help me with those is more than welcome), and it's missing a crucial DPCM sample too (which I couldn't find anywhere, and I don't know how to extract samples from N64 games).

Still, let me know what you think, and if you think you can help and feel like it, please do!

take a look at this thread.

basically try SRip first, but if that doesn't work/you can't find the correct table values, you might be able to use usfdump instead (mudlord's commandline version would probably be more convenient.)

anyway this sounds great as far as i can tell! i played through part of perfect dark again recently so this is good timing. i liked the music box. hadn't heard that in vrc7 until now.

Wow awesome cover, I loved perfect dark on the N64. (L)

Btw, VRC7 can handle only 1 custom instrument, right?.

Thank! I'm glad you liked it! PD is easily in my top-5 favourite games ever.
Btw, VRC7 can handle only 1 custom instrument, right?.
You can define as many custom instruments as you wish, but only one can be used at once, indeed.

Cheers for that! Turns out I won't need it though; I googled "Perfect Dark samples rip" and found a pack full of them. I couldn't find the one I needed though... :\
I guess I'll keep looking for it..

Thanks! The music box instrument is actually one of the predefined ones; I had to modify it slightly (by creating a new custom instrument) to go past octave 7 though.

I'd love to play some PD right now but I can't find my N64 controllers anymore... o_O Guess the XBox 360 remake will have to do for now, heh. :3
Maybe after I've beaten Portal 2.

that's a good case for using usfdump, as you can find a track that uses specifically the sample you're looking for. granted it's probably in the pack somewhere anyway.

oh man, online combat sim? that's tantalizing.
