The best way to find bugs is to make songs with it =P
The old bug I reported a long time ago. You have to be working on a song for a short time. Yes, from scratch, not just loading a song. After awhile if you ctrl+z to undo, an effect column opens with "0000" in all of them.
Also, idk what causes this, but I can be just tracking randomly and I hear no sound when I am placing notes. Again, you have to be tracking for a little bit for it to actually happen.
Btw, Fine pitch isn't exactly as "fine" as it should be. Using it even by increasing or decreasing the pitch by 1 is offset way too much.
Remember that the center of the pitch is 0x80, I find the fine pitch sufficiently fine. :P
How much precision do you need?, the fine pitch of DefleMask is more fine than the Famitracker one in Game Boy and SMS mode, in the YM2612 is a little bit high, because of the freq calculations, but that can be combined with the natural FM parameters in order to obtain the desired pitch.
I didn't know how the others are because I only use Genesis mode. I tried it with the Gameboy just now and you are right. But for FM, it is like another octave or something. Hmm, well not literally I think, but it is too much, but if you say it can be adjusted then I guess there's no worry. It should be as fine as the "detune", it is so slight, it is almost unnoticable.
By the way, It's hard to remember the effects of Deflemask, VGM MM AND Famitracker, so having a go-to effects guide in tracker would be nice.
Something that's more of an annoyance than a bug: when I'm playing a module, and hit 'enter' again to stop it (or use any means to stop it, this isn't limited to using 'enter'), the view resets to show line 00 at the very top of the window. This annoys me because if I'm listening for small things to change in the module, I like to keep my eyes on where I need to apply the change. This works fine in an environment like FamiTracker where the cursor doesn't reset to line 00 when you interrupt the play routine, but in DefleMask I have to find it again. In long patterns or in songs that use a really fast speed, it's next to impossible to do so; having the option NOT to reset the cursor position on pause/stop would be much appreciated for people like myself.
I don't know why I did not notice that, the camera position was very restricted, I think that I got used to that DefleMask behavior after many hours of use, now it is faster for editing after a pause, thanks a lot jrlepage.
I fixed too the FM fine pitch issue, I re-wrote the freq calculation, now the fine pitch is fine in FM too.
That's not just you, it does appear to be limited to -12 and +12 right now. Which is a bad thing imo, the range should be extended to the entire range of the chip.
You could use various arpeggios in order to reach higher values. It is currently limited to -12 and 12 because of the GUI envelope editor that has a fixed size so far.
I wouldn't have had to use full speed to track this song if the arp wasn't limited to -12/+12. That's the point of having a broader range. Isn't it possible to add a scrollbar to reach higher/lower values? Or just a text macro?

Strange... You could not use arpeggio macros in that track, because it was made with a pre 5.2 release of DefleMask. The size of the module is 222kb, it is uncompressed, and the compression is a feature added in 5.2, and the apreggio macro too.

It is absolutely possible, the GUI engine is done by myself so I could add virtually anything. I have to add a scrollbar in the side of the envelope like FT.

gotta check 'em all
AWESOME
PS: I will include this two tunes on the next DefleMask release, btw both are pre 5.2 tunes, without compresion, without arpeggios envelopes, etc.

Yes I know that. But if more flexible arps & noise mode envelopes had been available in DefleMask I wouldn't have had to use full speed... That's the point I was making.
You know, I'd really appreciate if you asked for permission before taking that initiative, at least for my tunes. I don't actually mind, but it's better you ask than me finding out you did it without asking.
Also, I think you'd have to ask Kulor first before including Hexaprism Hall, since that DMF is actually a note-for-note cover of his own SMS tune which he made in MOD2PSG1.

Yeah, I should ask for permission. I think that I'm very excited when a song done in DefleMask is released that I include it in the source folder at light speed. Sorry.
Some Windows7 drivers are giving problems, however I tested DefleMask on various W7 PCs without any problems.
Check the config.ini file and try to skip the intro, or modify the soundchip selected. Tell me if DefleMask starts, I need to find where is the incompatibiliy issue, but without a PC with the problem it is really difficult. I should send to you a cuted version of DefleMask to see if it starts, maybe the problem is in the window creation.
EDIT: DefleMask is crashing?, or the window is simply closing without any error message?.
