You're welcome. Btw, I just realized that DefleMask is showing the operators like in Memory Order, so the order is 1 3 2 4.

This is already fixed, now DefleMask display the operators in 1 2 3 4 order.

The 5.1b is almost done.

I ended up using ALG 5 with operators 1 and 4, which seemed to do the trick. So far I've managed to recreate the first seven default patches, with varying degrees of success.

Oh, did you catch that A#5/A#6 bug I mentioned earlier btw?

Here's one more: sometimes when saving Genesis FM instruments, the program will crash for unknown reasons. I don't know what causes this, but I'll keep experimenting and report anything I can come up with.

I do not know what is actually causing that bug, maybe a precision issue with the calculation of the frequencies, but it is strange that it is only happening for A# and B notes.

Wow, this one is very strange and a serious bug. So far DefleMask never crashed to me while saving instruments. I will appreciate if you can catch when it is happening so I can fix it.

I got it!, it was a bad concatenation of the instrument name while saving!. This is a very serious bug. I need to release 5.1b fast enough.

Awesome!

Here, have some VRC7. Even though I did my best, I couldn't quite get some of those patches 100% accurate; sometimes due to discrepancies between vibrato speeds, and other times because I simply don't know my way around FM well enough to achieve better results. Feel free to edit the instruments.

AWESOME!, they sound better than in the VRC7. :P

Btw, I extracted the Instruments using the new 5.1b pre-release.

Cheers

Effects 12xx - 15xx don't seem to work, unless I'm doing something wrong... 157F on one of my instruments should normally result in silence, shouldn't it? In any event, I'm not hearing any difference regardless of the value I put in...

At any rate, here's a quick demo.

They are working, but you need to use it AFTER a note triggering, you are modifying the standard value of the TL, so if you want a INITIAL state of the TL, you should set that TL in the instrument, and after modify it.

However, I could add the edition of the TL immediate in the same row.

Yeah it'd be great if we could change it on the same row as the note. I didnt expect the channel volume to change the envelope of the Instruments, so 12xx-15xx could potentially serve as a makeshift volume modifier that could be changed on the fly depending on your needs, if you see what I mean...

Because of the very very useful feedback of jrlepage and some tweaks done by myself, this is the new cleaned DefleMask 5.1b.

NEWS:

01: Game Boy Effect Added: 13xy - Hardware Sweep.
02: Game Boy Effect Added: 14xx - Sweep Time.
03: Now you can change the TL value on Genesis System while a note is triggering.
04: Serious bug fixed: A bad concatenation while saving an instrument could make DefleMask crash.
05: Note Delay Effect EDxx Fixed on Game Boy and SN76489.
06: Fixed a error in the frequency table that produced the same pitch for notes A#6 and B6.
07: Fixed a desynchronization issue with the follow row mode.
08: Now you can use the Axx effect with an envelope without problems.
09: Now you can press apart from Enter, the enter from the Numpad to play/stop the song.
10: Fixed a potential bug with the panning effect.
11: Fixed the fact that you could move to the right in the rows indefinitely (now the limit works right regardless of the system selected).
12: Fixed an Operator order issue, the order was 1 3 2 4, now it is 1 2 3 4. If you have a module that uses operator based effects, you should switch operator 2 and 3.
13: Moved a little to the left the save instrument dialog.
14: Manual Updated.

EDIT: I forgot to disable a Debug tool (freeze just before the loop), so DefleMask was re-uploaded again. My bad.

DOWNLOAD!

Ok so I fixed the Blizzard Buffalo Cover. The PSG got an overhaul and is now basically assisting the FM Strings. Also, did some volume cleanup.

And Remember that Panning trick I showed you before? Yeah well I mastered it.

On 5.1b, everything plays in my right speaker unless set to the left, at which point it plays in both.

Yeah, I changed the code of left/right output, for a better panning. I will correct this bug by tomorrow.

Turns out this only happens with genesis songs...

Also, now when you use 2 operators in the YMU759, operator 2 doesn't work while the instrument editor is open, and ALG:1 doesn't seem to work at all with 2 operators, on or off the instrument editor.

Nice update. I did ask that you wait before I could fix my SMB module before you could add it though.

EDxx still appears to be broken; this time it freezes the volume envelope when there's a note on the line directly after the one it's used on.

In the meantime, have some more Lagrange Point. Some sort of fine tune effect would be very welcome though; I had to resort to using 4xx for the chorus effect...

Making 12xx-15xx permanent until a new value is found would be helpful as well, in keeping with the idea that it could be used as a makeshift volume control that doesn't affect the whole instrument's timbre. Having to input the same value over and over again gets tedious, especially when you have lots of successive notes... What do you think?
