I was wondering how do you get eight, hole etc notes/rests into the sequencer.
How would you transition them from sheet music to the sequencer is a better way to put it.

It's all in the math.

You need to note that a speed of 6 & tempo of 150 is the same as 4/4 time, one frame is the same as one bar of music notation & that each line in the frame is a 64th note's worth of time.

At least that's my understanding of it.

Actually, with the default of 64 rows per frame, that'd be 4 bars of 4 beats per pattern.

As for transferring sheet music, there is a ton of styling that can be done with enveloping (either with the Axy effect or instrument definitions) and with phrasing through note cut offs (again either with Sxx or instrument definitions). So you better have a very good idea of the style of the piece before attempting to transfer to an .ftm. (not to mention vibrato )

An eight note would be 2 rows long, quarter 4 rows, dotted 8th is 3 rows. 8 note triplets would be:

Note G04

If you're at default speed of 6 (with the constant of 150 tempo since apparently messing with that leads to uneven tempi)

If you're doing something in 6/8, change the rows per frame from 64 to 48.

Umm, it's pretty unusual to start on row01 instead of 00. But as far as spacing you're right on target.

I think honestly the quickest way to get to learn famitracker is to load other people's .ftms

[url=http://famitracker.shoodot.net/forum/posts.php?id=1601&pid=12302#12302]Jeff C's first tune is adequate to get the feel for the program, it's not overly complicated (like mine ) and catchy enough that your ears won't bleed after looping it for 30 minutes.

I only used one because it was easier to count.
Is it ok to start on 1 for projects or well it mess the timing up or something. If not I well always do it. btw thanks and thanks for the link.

Well, even if you are always consistent with starting on 01, it'd make patterns weird that have a 16th note right before the 1st beat.

One problem with starting on 1 is that the Bxx effect won't work right.

It would? You'd just have to take into consideration that every pattern starts with a pickup and ends with an incomplete measure. Hell, the Beethoven we're playing this semester has a Bxx with a starting note on row 02 (well, 04 since it's in 3/4)
(oldschool Bxx is often called a repeat sign :P )
