What's the difference between a software slide and a hardware sweep? I've only seen nicetas even mention a distinction.

The difference is that hardware sweeps runs at 120 Hz and is exponential (shift + add) where software sweeps runs at 60 Hz and is linear.

Nope software sweeps run at the currently used clock speed be it 60Hz, 33488Hz or anything while hardware sweeps always run at 120Hz (although i am pretty sure not much of you will go use custom clock speed)
