It's been ages since I posted anything so I thought I'd showcase a little something I threw together a while back. I was trying to make something that sounded like a boss theme. My main influences were Journey to Silius and Ufouria. Not sure if I got the Sunsoft style down fully but oh well.
Some people have said it sounds like Pokemon. lol. I'm only starting to see the resemblance.
That's definitely Pokemon-esque. It's that bassline, I think - definitely reminds me of the newer games.

Thanks! I wanted to say that I was inspired by Gremlins 2 (I really love the ost as well) but I don't really think that mine has that 'quirky' personality that characterises the ost. Maybe it's just the 2,0 duty envelopes which are reminding you of that sound.
