Since I couldn't find a legitimate 8-bit X1 Intro Stage remix on YouTube, I decided to make one myself. After I posted the song, I lowered the melody one octave to make it better to listen to.

Here's both versions (v2 is the lowered pitch one).

Not sure about that C-4 at the beginning of each bit in Sq1. Don't think that was ever in the song.

Yeah because they say 'VRC6 is not legitimate'.

And no offense, this cover doesn't sound legitimate.

I meant that I couldn't find an 8-bit remix using just the 2a03 sound chip. All I could find was GXSCC remixes.

And how doesn't this cover sound legitimate?

Those MIDIs on VGMusic do not have '8-bit' waveforms NOT TO SAY THAT GXSCC is a disgrace to the chiptuning scene, but this cover is more inaccurate than those MIDIs

plus there is overdone vibrato throughout the song

you can make great 8-bit music in gxscc and even emulate the NES if you do it right, but nobody does, they just take a midi and shove it in without modifying or anything usually

the point of disgrace is that you are making a MIDI sound 8-bit-esque instead of composing a real 8-bit song with all those nifty limitations

I think I understand that. Using famitracker, you're limited like the real nintendo composers are/were. With midi you can go on and on with whatever you want. Right?
