specifically the lick at the beginning of/that runs through Miley Cyrus - Party in the USA . . . I'm assuming I'm going to need to do something with the instrument envelopes, but I'm having trouble getting the sound I want. Anyone care to take a stab at it?

First off, you may want to look at doing a rapid note slide with a pitch slide.

Secondly, it's very difficult to try & simulate guitar effects in FamiTracker unless you're trying to simulate a guitar with an effect pedal pushing it to cut-off.

Lastly, MILEY CYRUS?!!!

I was wondering how i could replicate We made it by Linkin Park, i know how to add notes and all, but i don't know how to stop the notes from lasting until the end, any help?

Go to File -> Configuration.

In there, you should see \ as the key that's set for your note cuts. You can change it to any key you want, though.

Then, for every note you want to stop abruptly, press your note-cut key where you'd normally place a note.
