I've been using Famitracker for a few months and finally decided to upload something here. This basically started out as an experiment in making/using DPCM basses, as well as trying to write something through-composed; It pretty much ended up being soloing over vamps however. I used Famitracker Version .3.5 if that makes any difference.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think!

F'ing groovy. Neat arp effect on your tri. And super awesome Square2 solo at 09. And the bass came out just fine.

I feel really stupid 'cause I can't figure why it has a swing. (These forums need a confusion smiley)

Yes this is not bad. It is nice to see a change from the Sunsoft DPCM, and your channel effects are conveyed quite well.

Not to mention that the melody is pretty impressive for a beginner.

I will watch for your next post.

You mean all those "change speed" commands in the the DPCM channel aren't a sufficient hint?

Thanks all, I'm glad you guys enjoyed it.

Heh, the first couple of times I tried to write with swing I just set the tempo high and manually swung each note. I was relieved when I learned that there was a simpler way to achieve the effect.

I'm pretty much addicted to this song now. Took me a bit to find out the speed changes make the drums do a swing effect. You should make some other songs.

I showed this song to a few of my friends(Of course with crediting you) and they loved it. One even asked for a MP3 to listen to it. This song really started off as just a DPCM bass test?

Yup, I wanted to try to import an FM bass into Famitracker, and once I wrote the first frame bassline I just built on top of it.

Also, sent you a PM.

Little modification, changed the DPCM Bass+ the white noise and added FDS Channel for more powerfull drums. Else than that, it is the same.

This tune is awesome, fluidvolt

That's pretty cool moviemovies1, personally the drums are a little too prominent for my tastes, but I'm glad you liked it enough to edit it .

And rainwarrior thanks! Good to hear.

Great Stuff! I love it! Add a little counterpoint and it is the Tim Follin masterpiece that never was...although the style does not really call for counterpoint...great phrasing, flow and creative details. I really like it.
