hey,

I've just started using FamiTracker very recently, I know how to make loops etc, but I'm stuck with a few things

1) How do I change it so that when you enter a note to be played, it is played as a single note, not an on-going one?

2) How do you create whole songs, not just a ### second loop?

and 3) Is there anyway of making beats on FamiTracker?

(PS Im using the latest version)

1) You have two options really. One is to make instruments with volume settings - you can make instruments fade out over a period for legato sounds or to stop abruptly for staccato sounds, or really any other sort of dynamics you might like to make for leads etc. Unless you make instruments with volume settings in, notes will sound indefinitely, which leads to the other option... that being to put "note stops" in your patterns using the "1" key.

I find a combination of both works best for me.

2) Put a Cxx event in an effects column on any of the tracks where you want your song to finish. Cxx is a "halt" effect, and that will stop your song from looping back to the beginning.

I hope that's what you meant. If you meant that you only have 64 rows to work with, you can click the "+" button on the left. You'll have more patterns to work with this way.

3) Basically using the instrument editor again. If you use the noise channel, you can create an instrument, then add volume envelopes, pitch controls, arpeggio and the like to create some percussion sounds.

The other option is using DMC samples, but that's a simple case of importing some trimmed .wav files.
