After watching many people attempt to copy the style of Megaman games everywhere, I decided to make a "musical mockup" of sorts: songs that, like the graphical mockups of game concepts, try to give a little "preview" of a game...

...while trying to "borrow" the Zelda: Link's Awakening / Oracles style. (No way I'm gonna join the Megaman bandwagon. Oh, no.)

EDIT - Dec 29 2010: Song count = 2! "Break and Enter" has been added.

Comments, criticism and tips are very appreciated.

I like it a lot! I've barely played any Zelda games though, so I can't say if it sounds similar or not to those games. This sounds like it would fit perfectly into a game though, the title even makes me want to make a game to put this in XD.

New song added to the file on the OP! I think the new one doesn't actually fit on Gameboy-like sound, but at least I'm trying...

Sounding nice! I think it still fits well with the last song.

It actually reminds me a lot of the Wario Land 3 music for some reason.

I also couldn't help but hear these two songs in there too (I don't know what they're called but I know there from Mega Man X):

Yeah, I see the similitude. Curiously enough, I've only heard the originals for those songs once.

Magna Centipede and Blast Hornet, Kuro.

These are pretty good. Having never played Zelda too much, I can't compare the styles, but it sounds good.

WOW! I, for once, hapen to have listened to the music (Link's Awakening only) alot, and I own the original Link's Awakening to boot. I must say, Break and enter sounds exactly like a dungeon theme from L.A. the first one sounds close, but like theres just some difference to it. Although I haven't listened to the Oracles music, so I couldn't say for sure. But the break and enter actually reminds me of one dungeon's theme (I think level 3, key cavern, just not quite as powerful). You are wise in not following the megaman bandwagon, because now we have more variety here. I myself couldn't compose a megaman tune to save my life, so I make covers of other songs and complete originals. But after hearing this, I may join you in this style. Bottom line, THIS IS INCREDIBLE.
