This is rather minor, but it would be useful if the instruments were saved as *.2a03, *.vrc6, etc. instead of *.fti.

That actually sounds like a good idea.

If someone were to use an FTI file made for the VRC6 square channels & tried to import it into a 2A03-only track, it'd screw up the program. So, why not make it easier for others by dividing the instruments according to the expansion chip it was made for?

(Or just have some kind of code that sends an error message once an FTI file's expansion chip doesn't match the one in use by the project file.)
