I may or may not continue to tweak this, but for now, here it is. :3
I'm not the biggest fan of VRC6 -- it feels like cheating -- but I don't think this could be done any other way. (The only other possibility would be using DPCM for the guitar chords, but it doesn't sound that good.)
I can't say I've heard this before, but it sounds great! It's really interesting though, you seemed to retain the "NES" style sound while still using all those chords.
I could possibly use arpeggios for the acoustic guitar, but then I'd have to use only one channel for the melody parts if I wanted to stick to the 2A03. The harmonica part wouldn't sound good without its harmony line, and using arpeggios for two parts simultaneously -- harmonica and guitar -- would be madness.
Love it! I like the VRC guitar and the handle on the triangle is perfect. I notice your square, noise and tooth are very low, did you do this to hear the triangle over the DPCM?
Anyways Great job man, now I have the beach theme stuck in my head. lol
if I was covering this song, I would of did it in tim follin style, I cant help hearing all his snes work sound like something of his old work he did on the nes. Some day I want to cover the spider man vs xmen intro.

Well, cheating, or not, it sounds freakin' awesome. I really like the guitar part because of the use of three channels for chords (also probably because I play guitar).
And on the subject of the arpeggios fo the guitar, I would say no because you have to replace the last note with the next one, so you don't have them all sustaining the same note, at the same time. Therefore making it an arpeggio, not a chord.

I usually give my melodies a volume of A in my tunes since that volume seems to work pretty well with the other instruments. From there I just bump it up or down if it sounds too loud or too quiet compared to the rest. For the guitar chords, part of the reason they're so quiet is 'cause there's three notes at the same time (five for the first two bars), which is louder than just one note.
I think the melody of the first part with the 'brass' (starting at pattern 12) may be too quiet, so I may bump that up to E or F instead of the current C.
