Last time I posted a thread, I said that I was gonna work on something original. Well, (the vast majority of) this is original. Which is pretty neato.

The number of unused instruments is more astounding than the sound itself.

No kidding, but you should have used [Edit] --> [Clean up] --> [Remove unused patterns] and then [Edit] --> [Clean up] --> [Remove unused instruments]. The reason of removing unused patterns is to ensure that no unused instruments are used in those patterns.

After that the resulting FTM should be around 36KB, then I am safe to say that this work is excellent.

(Or if you prefer, abuse 'Change all' so that frame X uses pattern X for all channels! It's a good illusion...)

I know about the whole Remove Unused Instruments and that stuff. Unfortunately, last time I used it on a finished song, it would no longer export to .nsf properly. So I just decided not to bother with that again, just in case.

Watch. It works perfectly fine with this song.

Though the one that caused the problems is also about 6:45 or so... Don't know if that could be the cause or it or not.

Edit: Wait... Did I just receive a compliment from the legendary nicetas_c?

...I think I can die happy now.

After removing all the unused instruments, the remaining instrument indices must be a consecutive sequence starting with 00.

These are the instrument indices of the actually used ones:

02, 03, 04, 06, 0B, 11, 18, 1F, 31

Therefore composers should always take extreme care of which instruments they have used and which they haven't.

Or wait until jsr makes a fix.

Ah, ok. I kinda figured it'd probably be something like that. But yeah, the reason there are so many unused instruments is because I use one main .ftm to house all the stuff I do, and then when I want to post something here, I just make a duplicate, and remove all the songs but the one I'm posting. Probably a lot more work than it's really worth, but it's one of my weird little eccentricities, I guess.
