Hey everybody, I'm fairly new to the tracking game. (Been at it for about 2 weeks now total) So I thought "Why not start by recreating the Original Megaman soundtrack?" What a fool I was...I've run into a bit of an issue on Bombman. More specifically the Triangle Toms, there's something funky going on with them and I can't seem to figure out what. So any help would be appreciated.

I'll post what I have so far. (I know there's still some cleaning up to do on the Stage Start and Iceman.)

This is usually followed by mockery and/or a self facepalm on my part for not noticing something very simple...

Someone should make an nsf2ftm or something like that already lol
I know about different sound drivers here and there but anyway
Ontopic: not bad, but there is already a recreation of this game's music

Yeah, I knew it was already made but I really just wanted to recreate it on my own as a test of my abilities as a new tracker.

PS: I still can't figure out what's wrong to my ears it still doesn't sound right...but maybe I'm too much of a perfectionist.

You are not only too less of such, you are posting in the wrong subforum.

Yeah, you haven't even read the soundtrack.

Well I apologize for being new but, I thought this was for general discussion about tracking, help and support. Maybe I was just looking for a bit of direction perhaps? Maybe you could've just pointed me in right direction? Before blatantly mocking me for something I obviously don't know. Once again I apologize for taking up your precious time.

Don't mind nicetas, he's a perfectionist and expects nothing less.

As for your FTM, I don't see Bombman's theme on it. Maybe you attached a non-updated version? What you have doesn't sound too bad so far. Bomb Man's triangle toms are a relatively shallow pitch bend (Around maybe |10) and they're cut off very quickly after they play.

So I did, sorry about that. Must've posted before saving. Anyway, according to what you said I may need to speed it up and space the notes out more to get the cut off I need.

There's still something missing.

you don't really need to do it, but you can space out more than you ever need whenever you want

example, done back when 0.3.5. beta is out, so there are a lot of redundant effects

Nice job, there are a couple of mistakes here and there but the music from this game is quite complex to do without being able to extract data and look at precisely what the notes are doing.

A couple of bigger things I noticed:
Both the intros from Cutman's stage and Gutsman's stage have a few wrong notes.
I think many of the S03's you have should be S04. It sounds like some of the notes are cutting too early in the Level Start song and Cutman's theme.
Also, starting at frame 06 in Iceman's theme, something sounds like it's missing, but I have no idea what it is.

EDIT: Also, I think this is the right place to post, since your not exactly showing off your work but more trying to get tips on making your songs better... At least I think...

I know exactly what you mean about the Iceman part. Although it doesn't help that I don't have the proper equipment or software to record everything to the point where I can decipher every note exactly. For the limitations that I have, it seems that this is as close as I can get without a spot of advice.
