Hello, I just found Famitracker to day, Ive downloaded the 2 demo songs, but when I play them it sound very bad, it helps a bit moving the buffer length to 200ms, but its still not playing it without glitch and crackels, I use a RME Multiface soundcard could this be the problem?

Hi, I haven't heard about that soundcard. What are your other computer specs?

Hello, RME Hammerfall Multiface is the name of my soundcard, the machine is a P4(intel) 3400mhz running XP, 512 mbram.

I tried famitracker on an old pc at my school, one that has inter soundcard, after moving the buffer to 200 it worked perfect, just not on my pc...

That is more than enough to run it, that makes me believe it's something with the drivers of the sound card.

Have you tried upgrading to the latest version?

Yes my drivers are up too date, still its a "old" pro-audio interface, yesterday I tried Famitracker on an old pc at my school and it worked ok with the buffer on 200ms, I consider getting some kind of pci soundcard to run this program with if my RME cant do the job, any suggestions on hardware that works well with famitracker, been looking at M-Audio audiophile 24/96..

I dunno what's wrong. Seeing that it's a pro card, it could be that the Direct sound drivers are badly optimized and some other interface is preferred.

I thought any card would go but then I guess it's not the case, but I believe most simple consumer cards are ok (and probably new cards overall, best would be to see if it supports direct sound). I have an internal AC97 chip that works well at 30 ms.
Increasing the max buffer length limit might work, but that wouldn't be fun to compose with.

I personally have never had a problem with a soundblaster card (especially my old-but-good Audigy 2, which I can run comfortably at 10ms), but that all may differ from system to system.
