My request isn't that big of a deal but I may have mentioned this before. Do you think that you could remove the volume column from the TRIANGLE and DPCM channels?
But DPCM volume might be useful if I get the DPCM saw hack working (haven't tried it yet).
Huh?! A DPCM volume control would be very useful, mostly because I can't make my dmc's loud or quiet enough. Actually, with the WAV to DMC converter that I use (http://www.freewebs.com/pancakeknight76/DPCM.exe), I can't control the volume or quality of dmc outside of famitracker, so the volume option within famitracer would be most useful .
Probably my only addition to this request is a volume control for the dpcm channel (maybe one that gets louder than F, like for the really quiet dmc's... but that is your choice), the triangle channel doesn't need a volume level (I guess... actually I wouldn't mind one, you know, for a fade out, fade in, etc. effects that really need a volume), and maybe a recommended or "built-in" wav to dmc converter (with probably some options like quality, volume, etc.). Thank you!

I never think of the future, it comes soon enough.
Cartridge... man I can't escape you anywhere sheesh... Anyway you can't change the volume on the DPCM channel typically. The volume is determined by the volume set in the sample being played at the time.
JSR is refering to a hack which allows the DPCM channel to be used to play saw waves, and there may be a way to adjust the volume of the notes being played as well. Here is the website to what I am talking about.

I asked JSR about possibley implimenting this concept in the tracker.
By the way, if you use the DMC maker that I recommended on 2a03.org it can adjust the volume of your samples.
Not quite as on the GameBoy, as the DPCM-channel still has to be used to play samples. The difference is that it is possible to manually change the channel after each sample and then it is possible to do some basic waveforms, as described on the page.
I've still not checked if it is supported in NSFs as the exams are keeping me busy, but it is one thing I'll check until next version.

Sorry... it's just that volume in a song is almost as important as the instrument itself. Although, when ya'll started talking about dpcm and a possible volume toggle... oh well. As long as the FamiTracker is as original as the NES, I don't really care either way :D
Thanks for the correction, Sliver!
... *looks at http://www.slack.net/~ant/misc/nes-saw/*...
WOAH! Yeah, that zip file has some scary nes sound samples in them. Hey Sliver, were you only talking about the saw one, because if it is at all possible, I wonder if the jsr can even put in something that sounds like the "square_scale.nes" in famitracker as well. The triangle_scale.nes sounded a little wierd, but the square_scale.nes and the saw_scale.nes sounds like, if it can be done, a very cool idea... something that I wouldn't mind famitracker's next release to have.
