I was talking about 0.3.0 actually, since I find it in a more stable condition than any newer one. I only use the newer ones for opening downloaded files.

If you download the version 0.3.0 package again, you should get an EXE file (the program,) a TXT file (for basic installation instructions & the changes added to the program) & a CHF file (the main help file for this version of FamiTracker).
Simply extract that file into the same folder where your program's located.

And to help you out further, each 3-letter file extension tells you what kind of file it is (i.e.: TX is text, EXE is executable, CHF is a compiled help file, etc).

i knew text = .tx/.txt, but the rest is all garbled to me. just like all the things i'm trying to learn from everything. Lunar magic, school, ect. It's insane.
