It's amazing how boredom can get those creative juices flowing. This tune managed to lodge itself in my brain while I was working away at some homework, and it wasn't going to get out and let me focus til I transcribed it. I'm pretty happy with the results considering I've only done covers on FamiTracker so far and nothing original. Let me know what you think!

Edit: I've decided to name my song To Wondrous Lands, it seemed to fit the adventurous atmosphere of the piece.

Another edit: The updated OST is at the bottom of the thread now.

It's the type of song that would work very well in a side-scrolling action game. Very well done there.

And who needs DPCM drums, anyways?

Sounds kinda like it would fit nicely in a megaman game.

:P

Sorry; I had to do that. Let the above joke be stricken from the record.

But yes; Fierce_Wolf made something good enough for a Mega Man game.

Oh man, that's priceless. Put an emphasis on the LOL in Trollololo.

I'm honored you think it's good enough for that, thanks very much!

And thanks everyone, glad you're enjoying it. ^^ I still have a long way to go but I'm definitely happy with how this one came out.

Good. Yo have picked up this software quicker than many of us already.

The vibratos to the end are executed well.

Cool, thanks Nicetas!

After messing around some more with FT and figuring out the module options I decided to add a couple more songs and build my own OST; it seemed like a fun idea. I've added two more pieces, one of which would be played at the entrance to an underground area (mostly to practice creating various sound effects) and the second of which would be used in the underground area proper. I'm just calling that one Subterrane for now. It's unfinished at this point but I think I have a solid start to it... now with those diversions out of the way back to work!

Hope you enjoy!

Wow, this definately has bounce to it. I think I'll throw this one on my iPod after converting it to wave.

What does the triangle channel mean, water drips?

Creative, yet it ends up being too loud.

Yes, the triangle channel in Cavern Entrance is supposed to be water drips. I wanted it to be a short track of mostly ambient noise, the exception being the echoing arpeggios (which I have as a lead-in to the actual Subterrane music). It can definitely use some work on volumes and the water drip noise. Should I make an instrument for that?

As for Subterrane, I haven't really added volume or effects to it besides the few echoes in the square 2 melody. How does my melody always end up in square 2 anyway? :P Regardless, it still needs plenty of nurturing before it's ready to go.

Any suggestion or assistance is always welcome, thanks!

Try using the effect Z7F in the DPCM channel to tone down the water drips' volume a bit.

Also note that FamiTracker uses hexadecimal under most cases, so it should be F0A instead of F10.

However you can just leave it F10 if you think that F0A is not better.

Whoops, yes I keep forgetting FamiTracker uses hexadecimal notation so that was a mistake. However, I think I like it as F10 so I'll leave it as such (call it a good mistake! lol). Thanks for catching that!
