I recently found myself doing silly bits of music when I was bored, only to later not know what to do with them and leave them unfinished or as "fragments" of a song that never came to me.

I include 2 examples of such here. One of them is a (kind of failed) attempt to make square waves sound like organ. The other is some twisted little tune that I swear I've heard somewhere before, but I can't quite put my finger on it (the fact that it's actually quite a creepy little tune made the experience of writing it quite... unsettling).

Does this happen to anyone else around here? Do you write small snippets of songs that could have been good but later you end up not knowing what to do with 'em? If so, feel free to post them here and speak of the experience! (That is, if you wish.)

I like the first song, honestly. And yes; that has happened to me several times. :P

It happens; sometimes, you somehow manage to create this weird tune in your head, for no apparent reason. And then, you put it down on paper or play it on an instrument. At times, it could be unsettling depending on the mood of the song you create (especially when you compare it to the type of music you prefer listening to).

It's like someone enjoying Ac/DC's music & then composing something along the lines of Marilyn Manson's style.

Yes; Frequently I laid down some random notes, they sounded good, but they ended up being difficult to continue further.

Interestingly, it seems to happen as well while writing compositions.

Now, that G#0 in orgelwerke.ftm works as A-0.

Yeah, any note beyond A-0 is pretty much an A-0...

Also: You both say you have this kind of things around, but posted none...

I have over 9000 such fragments and silly me I made only two of them finished (Path and Rising)

I don't think it's necessary to upload 1-frame fragments though.

Here is some of my work ( The filenames are shit :X ) :

Especially if it is history.

Like when you are still a n00b, and get frustrated upon inputting a frame.

The MLBIS one is halted because of the different volume levels between 0.3.5. and 0.3.6., and I am just too lazy about that.

EDIT: I would have quickly made a WIP 900BPM Contra thing here should I have noticed this is the 573th thread in this subforum.

Sadly, my only unfinished song is one that I haven't had any time to transcribe from its musical notation. But yeah; sometimes, you imagine a song, start writing it & you get writer's block.

You need triangle a note higher than the squares, one square V01 (1), the other V00 (0). And both squares need to be at volume c (12).

All numbers represent the mark they go to in the instrument settings.

Answer to the end: Sadly, I do alot. Here's just about ever one I have. Almost all of these here, though, are kinda old. I don't save worthless junk much anymore.

Two-part VRC6 church organ created while doing some CV stuff. It's volume is low; Adjust them yourself.

It seems that VRC6 instruments do not work when saved. And yes, it is 900BPM for you to do the instruments yourself.
