Hello everyone!

I have been listening to this fantastic music for quite some time now and decided to dive into the world of creating my own! I found Fami on Nullsleep's reference page and checked it out.

After staring blankly at the screen, wondering why, what and how. I read through the forums and listening/seeing many of the community's tracks and started seeing the music. The lights started switching on. And after a short wrestling match with my Axiom 25 MIDI keyboard and Fami (grr)... I was able to start beeping and KSSSHHHHHHTTTTing away. ^.^

I really like the supportive community you all have built here. I do not feel embarrased to post my creations for listening. I am looking forward to enjoying myself discovering the world of 8-bit composing, and look forward to getting to know you all.

That said, please feel free to check out my first zap at it! Good or bad I really had a ton of fun making this. And the smile you get on your face when you hear your completed product and it's, "Music to your ears" was well worth it.

The scene in my mind was the young hero's first day leaving his home, starting his adventure...

Dude; this is an amazing track. I like how yo created it by thinking of the scenario it would be befitting of.

Thank you so much for that huge confidence booster! I'm happy I made something someone liked :P And yeah the senario idea is something I want to roll with.

The author setting that scene I think impacts the listener and how they are affected by the music. At least that's what I am going for. We will see how it works out :P

Playing with creating instruments for the next one. Still learning what exactly the different settings (Volume, Duty/Noise) actually change in the sound. To much fun, like learning a new language.

Thanks again for the comment

Any time. That's actually how I try to compose my own songs. I try to imagine what scenario in a particular style of game I'd compose a song for & I go for it.

You'll see my doings on my website, if you're interested.

I are doing the seeing of your dooings now. Great source of resources too! Ever used Hirens Boot disk? Use it all the time for IT work. I ask because the BartPE reminded me of it lol.

I did have a 2 FT questions reguarding my song. At the end of the song you can hear the soft static, Which I love and want to know how I can do it again. However, The song ends after the Area Clear note. Then the track continues till the fram is over. Is there a command or way to end the song? Or must it play out the remaining rows?

Thank you!

Use C00 to halt the song.

I've personally tried Hiren's Boot CD, but wasn't too impressed; it just seemed too bloated when compared to BartPE-s customizable programs plug-in system & the fact that it has its own (installable) bare-bones Windows environment. Hiren's CD, on the other hand, is DOS-based & you can only change the ISO's keyboard layout with the supplied patches. If I wanted to run some DOS programs, I'd use my MS-DOS 7.10 USB key, personally.

Anyways, there's also another way to do things in your song. You now know that C00 stops the song entirely. But you can use Bxx on your last line of the last frame to jump to the beginning of any other frame you wish.

For example, I have a 5-frame song. The first frame is an intro sequence & the four other frames are the main loop. On the last line of frame 5, If I put a B01 in the effect's column, I can jump to frame 01 (which is my 2nd frame) & I'll be able to begin the loop all over again.
