I was listening to a song I made. Yes, the song is terrible, but what makes it worse is that somehow, while I go through the song, the square channels near the end of the loop become softer and more chime-like.

This happened gradually over multiple plays.

I will attach it here, and please ignore the name.

Well, there are two things to consider. First, the totally unrelated thing; you're using volume control for the triangle when you can only do two volume settings (0 & F).

Secondly, the most important part; it's a problem caused by wave superposition. Look at the scope that's above the note editing field; when you play one row, you play 4 different notes at the same time. This means you're creating 4 waves that overlap each other; if one wave is the same as another in duty cycle, they'll both combine into a super wave. If one has an inverted duty cycle from the other, they'll try to kill each other to 0 volume. Anywhere in between & you can achieve weird volume/tone effects.

Can you create an NSF so that I can hear it play properly (because I'm still using FamiTracker 0.3.0 & the file's instruments are incompatible with my version of the program)?

I don't think it would happen in NSF.... but I'll try anyways.
