Is there a standalone FTM player available?

If not what parts of the famitracker source code might I have to look closest at to make a stand-alone player?

Also, what sound library does famitracker use, DirectX?

Make NSFs and play them with an NSF player, or a NES emulator. There is no reason to make a standalone player for a Famitracker file.

famitracker basically is the standalone player.

however i guess to be more efficient for use just as a player, there'd need to be options like "auto-play when a song is opened" and "only run one instance of famitracker."

Cool, thanks for the help. I managed to find something while blindly searching Ubuntu's software registrar that converts NSFs (and other video game formats) to sample data:

It's called 'Game Music Emulator':

It doesn't actually play the sounds through your speakers, you need to either convert it to sample data in real time or convert it to a WAV file, it's quite neat.

There is, however, an NSF sound driver package available on this site's download area; if you're into programming your own NSF player, you might want to have a look at this.

SunVox works in iPhone, iPad, PalmOS and another systems. It's a good tracker, i wrote many songs in that software. Check it out. I'm waiting for the 1.6 version.

Ah yes, SunVox. I remember using that a few times.

I do hope that someday Famitracker can be ported to a few portable OS's. Although, with jsr being kind enough to give out the source I suppose an expert could edit and compile it to work with some portable platforms.

Dangit Delek, now I have to go mess with SunVox again!

Awesome, thanks for the recommendation Delek....I don't know why, but I could not for the life of me find a mobile tracker.
