My Friend and i are starting to get into the chiptune scene and we want to utilize the midi import feature in Famitracker.
we notated three tracks out in finale 2007, and saved it as a midi, but when we tried to import into famitracker, nothing showed up. we tried importing another midi from the internet, and it worked.
the prospect of tracking after we have most of our songs written out in finale is less than favorable, so any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
When you import a MIDI file into Famitracker you need to get the channel mapping right.
After selecting the MIDI file, you'll be shown the channel mapping dialog screen. Therefore you'll need to know what channels your instruments are in, from your original MIDI file.
For example, if in your MIDI file, Channel 2: Synth Bass, Channel 6: String Pad, Channel 10: Drums, at the dialog screen, you may map to Famitracker in this way:
