The drums used in the first GI Joe game. I tried to sample it using NSF player, but to no avail. Also, it would be great to know how to do a lot of the GI Joe sounds.

I'm new to FamiTracker and don't know a lot about it, so bear with me, please.

Has anyone else asked about this? I looked, but not much.

Thanks in advance to all that can shed some light.

Are they DPCM drums, noise drums or triangle drums?

You know what, I'm not entirely sure. Although, I believe they are noise.

Here you go. This should be the drum you are looking for. It plays 1, E, and 6. 1 for the bass drum, 6 for the snare and E for the hi hat.

Wait, nevermind.

Update* (Within 2 minutes)

You know what, I actually do need help. How do you use this exactly? And what do you mean by 1 and 6? I get E.

Sorry. I'm new. This is probably some stupid question.

Import the instrument by clicking the little page next to the disk under the instruments.

Use it in the noise channel. 0 is the lowest noise note, F is the highest.

Instead of C3, G5, etc, the noise channel only uses 1-F

Hexadecimal... 1-9, then A B C D E and F for 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15.

Actually it's 0-F but still.
Anyways, I'm glad I could help, sir!

This is excellent! It sounds exactly the same! You've really outdone yourselves. One more question, is there any kind of site or spot in the forums that has presets like this for many different games? Where could I find more? And not just for percussion, but everything else, too?

Here in the forum are more full songs than instruments, but you can download songs and extract the fti files from them.

Not if you really count all percussion notes. There are way more envelopes:
V[15 2]
V[15 14 2]
V[15 14 13 2]
V[E0]
V[6 12 11 11 10 10 9 9 8 8 7]

D and F are used as well.

Interesting. I really only compared it to one level, I guess... Those V's are volume, correct? and their corresponding levels? I'm new to this entirely, and I don't know all the lingo and such... sorry.

Also, What programs extract .FTI files from songs? And is it from .NSFs?

FTI stands for FamiTracker Instrument... so, basically, they're ripped from FamiTracker songs. You can only do it if you have the FTM... if you ask FamiTracker to export an instrument from an FTM, you get an FTI.

So are you saying that people are making the song and recreating the instruments themselves? I would not have the patience to do that...

No. It's much easier. Just open an NSF in NSFPlay and it will give you all the instrument information.
