The whole realistic piano style in Famitracker with sharps really throws me off. I am a guitar player so I like all my semitones next to eachother. Is this something that can be added as an option at some point?
Secondly, Copying and pasting. I just started using Famitracker tonight, and perhaps it's just an option I need to turn off, but when I copy and pasted things, it caused everything under the paste to be pushed downward. That was really throwing me off.
All right! I figured out problem number 2 on my own. Good times, it was hiding in the configuration window. ^_^;
I do have another concern. When I slelct my FamiTracker to behave like Modplug in the Configuration window, it still behaves like FT2... This one has been driving me bananas! Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Sorry about the double post also, normally I am not that noobish on a new forum. My mistake.
Anyway, my suggestions mostly stem from making FamiTracker have options that relate it to modplug (which was my tracker of choice previously)
Other small suggestions to make it similar to Modplug are the ability to drag/select more than one column at a time. Helpful when you want to copy and paste a whole pattern or 'frame' and paste it into a new one. Instead of having to do it one at a time.
Modplug also features the ability to to hold the left click and drag the cursor to create a highlighted selection, then after you let go, you can hold the left click again to move that entire selection to a new destination in that column (or anywhere you want it) This is perfect for guys like me who might not know what they want until they hear how it sounds. Sometimes moving a small riff 2 or 4 spaces up or down makes it sound way better.
Lastly, perhaps it's an option all ready that I am un aware of. But is it possible to use the number pad instead of always using the top row?
In any case, this program is the greatest thing I've ever seen. Where and how can I donate you some paypal funds for your hard work?
The main difference is that the sharps are located on the same row of keys. Much as they are on a guitar.So when I want to translate a riff from guitar to modplug, I can remember how many frets the next note is away, not the actual notes, and the sharps.
Yeah those songs was great! You should really send them to www.2a03.org
I can add another key->note translation table that is active when the modplug option is selected. The selection-and-move thing could probably also be added.
But I'm not sure what you mean about the number pad question, maybe you can explain more?

Anyway, thanks for the appreciation![/quote]
Certainly. When I am writing a song, I can't use the Number pad, on the right of the keyboard, to edit what instrument I am using (should I decide to change it to another), or the value of an effect such as portamento. The only thing on the keyboard that allows me to enter number values are the top row of numbers above the "qwerty" part of the keyboard. It's not a huge deal at all, but I guess it's more Modplug habits I have :P
Thanks for checking out the tunes dudes. I hope to make a few more before I send them to 2a03 though. Here is a tune I've just belted out. Just wanted to test out some NES power chords.
