I opened some songs in FamiTracker 0.36 beta, then opened them in 0.35 stable and the songs were distorted as in I heard snap sounds on every full volume blast of noise, the square channels echoed, the triangle was horribly miamed, and the DPCM's samples were merged together strangely. Is this normal?

Was FamiTracker made for or just compatible with windows XP?

By the sound of it, tt's a file type issue, not an OS issue.

I just checked, it happens now in 0.36 too. Even with modules I never opened in 0.36 before this happens in 0.35.

EDIT: Help with fixing this problem? If I couldn't notice the difference, I'd be fine. But, I'm almost as good as nicetas at picking this stuff up, and I'm starting to lose sanity here.

SECOND EDIT: I noticed the reason to all of this. A virus I have is tampering with everything, putting metronome on noise, snare drums on DPCM, and every other channel gets a piano.

THIRD EDIT: I forgot to say flute on triangle.

EDIT AGAIN: FDS seems to be untouched, though.

So your best bet would be to clear that virus of yours (or possibly reinstall Windows if you still have that 8-bit graphics problem, too).

The 8-bit graphics thing was just with one program!

It sounds like you've selected a midi out device. Open settings go to MIDI and set the output device to none.
