alexor at 2a03 has started this:

Cool thing, and great idea! I don't know how he will merge the songs to fit on the cart, but it got me thinking of this function for FamiTracker:

I've mentioned it before, it would be really nice if you could import FTM's into your existing FTM. In this case, when everyone is using the same instruments it would not cause any problems with wierd sounds etc. Is there a way to change the order of the songs in a FTM with more songs than one? That function would be sweet too!

second that,
both the import/merge FTM and track list options would be super useful!

third that - i want this feature... i do this manually quite often... it would be nice to be able to have the option of doing it automatically for songs with much different instruments

still you can already paste sections from between two separate opened famitracker songs. So it would not take forever to just paste it together.

Yes that's right, but copying and pasteing longer songs would take too much time... Especially when you have to copy channel by channel.

some other trackers ( i am thinking of TFM music maker) allow you to select all channels and copy paste them, this is usefull for sure, but i don't think it is possible in FT... or am I mistaken?

I have an idea also, wouldn't a better way be to combine different FTM's into one single NSF? That way every one could use their own instrument set.
It isn't hard to compile a custom made NSF with songs from multiple FTMs, I can write a guide how to do it.

But yeah I forgot this feature until now, I'll find some quick way to add it.

Merging FTMs would probably also require that it checks for duplicate sequences for each effect so it doesn't clutter the merged FTM with unnecessary additional sequence numbers. (same with instrument importing if it doesn't do that already)

yeah i know its not THAT hard to combine ftm's together into a multisong ftm... BUT... it is difficult when im planning on making a huge cart with bankswitching featuring 2 of my eps that were released as mp3s previously with bonuses and art etc - i have something like 40 songs to combine manually... it'd take a long time

but yeah combine single ftm's into a multisong nsf that'd work too... as long as it was optimized to share instruments and sequences (im sure that was obvious without my 2 extra cents... as the fellow before me mentioned it too... its obvious regardless)
