First level from the SNES game Axelay. The music in this game, to me, is just fantastic. I recently played this game on my SNES and found myself really enjoying listening to it. I'd like to do more covers from it in the future.

This is pretty great. The only real thing I could say as criticism is that you should do something like vibrato on the lead near the end... in fact I'll just add it and see what you think

by the way, this is something i'd expect to see at famicompo actually

Thanks! I sort of took your advice and added some vibrato (albeit a lot less) near the end. (I updated the first post)

I want to work on it a lot more and maybe I will submit it to Famicompo...

It's funny. After playing, I searched about on the internets and came across that. I didn't know there was an NSF or FTM for download though...

After downloading and listening to that, It's remarkable how similar yet different mine and his are. I think I like mine better.

I have to agree with you. Your version has more of a Konami-sound to it, and sounds a bit cleaner too! Great!

Thanks, that's what I was going for. I love Konami's music style on the older systems like the NES and MSX and stuff.

I've got one more update for this song (mostly fine tuning and adding little effects here and there) then I'm done. I'm thinking of doing Colony next (second level) in the same NSF/FTM and calling it quits with this game. I've pretty much given up on my Space Manbow covers for now anyway...

That's pretty awesome. I haven't played this game but I like the soundtrack. And frame 12 just blew me away.
