I was making a song in Famitracker using the FDS expansion normally, but I had to reboot my computer. So I saved it to continue it later.

The problem is, when I tried to open the .ftm, Famitracker gave me an error message saying 'Couldn't load a file properly'. All my progress was wiped from the tracker. Why is that?

I did read a topic with a similar problem, but I didn't remove the FDS expansion and leave a FDS instrument along with the others.

OBS: I'm using 0.3.6 beta and the original file was made with 0.3.5, does that have something to do?

There's your problem. 3.5 is not compatible with 3.6. You can reopen it with 3.5 and just copy and paste everything into 3.6 if you wish.

0.3.6 works fine with 0.3.5 files to me.

0.3.5. stable/beta IS compatible with 0.3.6. beta.

0.3.5. beta and onwards ARE backwards compatible up to 0.2.7. as long as no new features are used.

Or would you please attach the module so that jsr can check what's wrong?

Is it 0.3.5. stable or beta?

Also, 0.3.5. beta and onwards are incompatible with the 0.3.0. re-release, i.e. the one with absolute arpeggio feature.

EDIT: What kind of error is it?
Weird whenever I try to open 3.6 files in 3.5 it gives me the error.
I think that's because you're using a newer module with an older version of the tracker, or basically, compatibiliy issues like nicetas_c mentioned. At least, it might be. Just think of it as the equivalent of trying to play a DSi game on a DS system, or a 16-bit Nintendo game on an 8-bit Nintendo console... I don't know, maybe not? You can ignore this post if you want.

Sorry I didn't see this thread until now. I can probably fix the file if you send it to me. There could also be a backup if you have the backup option enabled.

Also, there shouldn't be any file incompabilities between 0.3.5 and 0.3.6, at least not that I'm aware of. The only change is how release points in instruments are stored and that should load fine in 0.3.5. (But both files are incompatible with 0.3.5 betas.)
