Here's my second crack at covering 16-bit songs in 8-bit for no reason besides the cool sound.
It's Candy Mountain from Kirby Super Star (and its Ultra counterpart), and if you know Kirby, you know what to expect already (Love it or hate it).
Here's the original, for comparisonificationization purposes: [url=]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5N-XagUCf8
I realize my cover sounds a hair higher compared to the original. That's because the .SPC file I was using for reference (Yes, I'm sort of a cheater in that respect) happened to be one that was kind of funky, and shifted the pitch up a tiny bit. And since I hadn't heard the track in a while, I had just assumed that was the original pitch, and went by ear that way. That's a horrible way to describe it to a person who hasn't listened yet, but don't let it turn you off, because it still turned out pleasant, in my opinion.
Comments and criticism are welcome. After all, I'm still new at this.
By the by, it seems that the FTM file has fallen victim to a recently-found bug in the latest official release of Famitracker. As a result, only 0.3.6.0 beta seems to open it without throwing a hissy fit.
Nah, the .SPC wasn't from Zophar's Domain. It was some random one I
found from some other site. I guess getting it from Zophar's would have been easier and better, though. Oh well.
