A short tune i made with Famitracker. Tell me what you think.

I think that the intro is a little long.

PD: I combine the NSF with a short 6502 assembler program i made for this occasion.

Regards, Delek.

Pretty good. It's a nice little song to introduce a game with (however, the audio glitched on me while I was updating my computer & running Nestopia, so I couldn't hear the complete loop properly).

Mind you, it'd be nice if your image could stop scrolling for a few seconds before moving to the next frame. Have you tried importing your NSF into something like LogoNES or GalleryNES?

[url=http://www.no-carrier.com/index.php?/logones/]http://www.no-carrier.com/index.php?/logones/
[url=http://www.no-carrier.com/index.php?/gallerynes/]http://www.no-carrier.com/index.php?/gallerynes/

I'd like to see your design scrolling through static images, personally. But using the above links is only a suggestion, though.

I like the drums I think it needs some bass in it. Sounds like some music for a platformer.

@TechEmporium Thanks!, and thanks for the links!.

@apricorn Yes, the bass is a bit less protagonist than the other channels, however, i think that in a real NES this will no happen. I mean, the triangle channel in the NES is more powerful and elegant. If i had the powerpak . Thanks!.

In either case, not every song needs a triangle (& besides, you can always "decrease the triangle's volume" by using a ZFF effect in the DPCM channel).

And I finally got to hearing the complete loop; pretty impressive. Not a lot of games would have music like this (with an airy feel to it). I know of maybe a couple of pirate games, but that's only a small number.

@TechEmporium Thanks man!.

You make me remember a pirate built-in cartridge:

The menu make me think that there is an amazing tune, do you know where to find a rom of that Famiclone?.

Awesome Famiclone. You've got to hand it to the Chinese & the Scandinavians for their hacking skills & fearless copyright violations.

Like most modern-day Famiclones, it uses the NES-on-a-chip IC (in case you haven't seen it physically, it's a condensed circuit board containing a few surface-mount components & one ultra-condensed IC, replicating the justs of a Famicom's motherboard. I actually had the honor to compare one with a Namco direct-to-TV joystick's chip).

The ROM itself is most likely something combining the concepts behind the PowerPak & No Carrier's 9999-in-1 source code. Chances are the ROM file itself was compiled from a bunch of different pirate ROMs' CHR & PRG files, which was then stored on a standard flash chip containing a special boot loader to interact with the NES-on-a-chip.

If you know how to fiddle around with flash chips (like desoldering them & resoldering them into USP flash drives, CF cards, etc.,) I'm pretty sure you could copy the ROM. Either that or you could find the ROMs in some distribution site. :P

@TechEmporium Good info friend!, hey, do you know how are made a NOAC?, i mean, reverse engineering?.

I don't quite understand what you're asking, but there's no need to reverse engineer the chip as it's already been reversed. There's only 3 pieces of information on the chip that I could find (& one is a repat of the same thing):

[url=http://nesdev.parodius.com/nes-on-a-chip.txt]http://nesdev.parodius.com/nes-on-a-chip.txt
[url=http://nesdev.parodius.com/6578_pinout.pdf]http://nesdev.parodius.com/6578_pinout.pdf
[url=http://kevtris.org/Projects/portendo/nesonachip.html]http://kevtris.org/Projects/portendo/nesonachip.html

But they have all the information you'll ever need to take advantage of it (if you also have the full specifications for the 2A03/2A07/6502 chips).

Basically, the chip is a reverse-engineered NES motherboard, condensed to fit in a microprocessor. Each pin-out represents some kind of data input & output between the controllers, video output, audio output, CPU, PPU & cartridge bus.

Internally, the basic components are a 2A0x, PPU, grounded lock-out chip, RCA audio/video card, cartridge bus, internal circuitry & other standard features normally found on a Famicom's motherboard (all of which have been carved & replicated in a silicon chip, much like an average PC's microprocessor).

You can find the chips in several Famiclones or you can even buy them in bulk (& surprisingly enough, from an American component retailer):

[url=http://www.iso-components.com/Public/Search_Inventory_Results.aspx?Keyword=NT6578]http://www.iso-components.com/Public/Search_Inventory_Results.aspx?Keyword=NT6578

By bulk, I'm talking about 100-1000 units.
