I'm just gonna post songs/tests here that include sounds from Atari Arcade/ Atari 2600. Other people can too.

I said other people can post here too. This topic is more productive in a good way than making everyone make their own topics on their atari songs.

Of course it can make Atari sounds. But, it can make NES sounds really well.

No offense, but this seems really pointless.

First off, of course the NES can create sounds similar to the 2600 etc., it was made 6 years later! (well, actually 4 if you count Mr. Fami.) The 2600, as far as I know, could create saw waveforms other sounds that the NES would have trouble recreating without extra hardware. But basically, they're on the same level. That's like saying the NES can make the same sounds the gameboy can! (Which it more or less can)

Second, why does it matter? Few Atari 2600 games even had music, and of that, few (if any) are worth even covering at all.

Of course, because the thread is not locked.

The forum is really missing a 'READ BEFORE POSTING' announcement.

The Nintendo can also sound like the SMS if you have the MMC5 chip enabled and the three channels are at 50%. Yamaha made the Sega Master System's chip and I think they made the Sega Genesis chip. I'm not sure who manufactured Atari's chip though, I think that it was Atari but I really don't know. But this post is kind of useless, yes. It's like saying Sega Genesis can sound like Atari Arcade Games. Of course they can because they both use FM synthesis chips by Yamaha. I honestly don't mean to pick on you. I'm just saying that you are kind of pointing out something we already know. Don't take this the wrong way, okay?

Are you kidding me? A chromatic scale with an empty instrument. You think that's worth posting... REALLY?

edit:
I say it's time to start thinking about banning kinkinkijin. Either he's a troll, or he just won't learn from his mistakes.
That was a mistake. I regret saying that.

Well whatever you guys want. I'm staying out of this. Well actually I can't. I would say give him one last chance and if he spams or something again, then I say ban him. Everybody needs a second a chance.

*face palm* What, you actually think that someone will post his/her own sound that sounds like atari music?

If my memory serves me correctly, the Atari only had a duty cycle of 50%.

i don't get it. you can use one channel of PSG in fami and magically get atari music? isn't that really obvious? why would you want to? and if you did why wouldn't you just use an Atari tracker instead? being pedantic, the atari soundchip has its own idiosyncracies (wave timbres are different), so this isn't really atari music specifically, the limitation of "one channel" is too simple for it to be characteristic of anything particular, since many early sound chips used only one channel (however if you posted saying something like vrc6 can help you do C64-style PWM leads that'd be different.)

shrug

Once again, you have put effort into work that makes you looks like you have put no effort in it at all. Instead of continuing these experiments, why not actually compose a song? Think and rethink before you post.
...and if he spams or something again, then I say ban him.
Wow. I hope moderators can do that as well.
