I'm having trouble having to work with four or five channels without knowing how the DPCM and VCR7 things work, and really I'm just looking for different vstis than samples.

I saw it used in this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-kVX3HTPU8

It's the thing titled FDS.

Is there somewhere where I can download it or some way I can use it?

The newest beta has FDS expansion compatability.
Do you ever try checking the latest versions?

considering that the 0.3.5 beta isn't public you shouldn't expect people to have it automatically.

but yes, it's supported in the latest version and will be included in the next full release.

I'm just a noob at this. I downloaded the latest version (top one on the download screen)I think but I don't see the file.

I don't have the VCR6 nor any other instruments besides square 1, 2, triangle, and DPCM. Am I supposed to have any of these or is there somewhere separate where I download them?

I haven't found an answer on the forums but maybe I'm not looking at the right thread. Sorry if my questions are really annoying, and thank you for having the patience to help me out on this.

go to module>module properties in the file menu. you can choose what extra chip you would like to use there. Only 0.3.5 has FDS and VRC7 support though.

I have updated the help files and spent lot of time fixing the last export problems now so the next version might be out within few days.

Exporting problems? Like the fact that iNES files tend to sound like a bunch of popping at the correct notes? And that if you're using VRC7/VRC7/MMC5/FDS in your song than those notes are trice high and very loud? And when you export your song the DPCM is not there?

I beleive that the NES can chorus, so I think you need to add an effect for that. And chorusing is where it goes to a set frame then plays the frame after the one with the chorus effect in it. I don't think any tracker has it yet, though.

I've tried chorusing & learned the hard way when nicetas_c was helping me out with my last track; it's not a good idea to do a chorus if all your square channels have the same duty cycle (the notes will end up either killing each other or building on top of each other). So, besides adding different effects like a pitch bend or a vibrato, make sure that you used different duty cycles for different channels as well.

I disagree. I usually use the same duty cycle in both channels for a chorus effect. It is possible that the interference will worsen the sound, but that isn't always the case.
