Hello all,
This is a FTM I made of the game Swamp Thing for the NES. The music was originally made by Mark Van Hecke (My NES music idol). He used Dr. T originally for the music on the Atari ST. He also told me that there was supposed to be a song with a bunch of digitized sounds (he said a frog croak, swamp sounds, etc.) but it wasn't in the NSF and I didn't hear it in the game. I asked him if they were sound effects from the waves and he said no. He told me the NES had one square, one triangle, one sine, and one noise but I told him the 'sine' wave was another square and he told me that's not how he remembered it. Only two songs from the game are in this FTM but I worked VERY hard on them and they are my most accurate FTM file next to Cheetahmen II.

I edited the drums on the second song. I didn't know that they had different patterns but after playing it back...
Anyway, I may do the other songs soon. As soon as I can stop being lazy haha.
Also, TechEmporium, thanks.

I am glitching only song 1 on you for this post.
1) The correct tempo is not 125. It is 3600 ÷ 29 = 124.137931... and hence requires the use of rational tempo, which you have not learnt.
2) The first frame of the song should be muted. It requires the use of Fxxs as well.
3) Notes using instrument 00 can be simplified and corrected, from:
G-1 [12 8 7 7 6 5 4 3 3 2 1 1 0]
---
G-1 [12 8 7 7 6 5 4 3 3 2 1 1 0]
---
to:
G-1 [12 12 8 7 7 6 6 5 4 3 2 1 1 0 0 12 8 7 7 7 6 5 4 3 3 2 1 0 0]
---
---
---
4) Some notes in SQ2 should be longer, but I am not in the mood of listing all of them.
5) The last D-4 of the triangle channel in Pattern 00 should be played exactly 6 frames before the next note.

In order to make it accurate you must fix SQ2. Also don't use note releases for fade-out - use another instrument instead. That way it will be safer as the note release feature is still buggy.

Plus, both songs use rational tempo. Study hard on Dave's, danooct1's or my work with those Fxxs. (Hint: The correct tempo for Final level is 7200 ÷ 43)

Alright, thanks for the tips! Also, I don't know anything about 'rational tempo'. Also, according to the NES rom, in the first song, the triangle channel has vibrato, but it's not in the NSF.
