I, being caring of slow learners and wanting to expand their learning experience and quicken their learning, want just for tutorial songs of all levels to be added to the next release's package. I might even make one for the cause.

It would be kind of cool to see my songs He Who Holds The Disk, A Real Man, and Just Like You Imagined. I'll also make something in 2A03 that's better than my previous ones specifically for this release.

Yay! Contribution is FUN!

A newcomer runs FamiTracker.
S/he opens ABUSIBILITY.
S/he takes a brief look at the whole mass/mess.
S/he is muted.

I can't wait to imagine that thing to happen if it really happens. Too bad there are way more FTMs floating around the Forum, and it is difficult for, say, jsr to choose the best ones.

I think jsr would choose the ones best for FIRST STAGE begginers first. NC, your ABUSABILITY is a bit extreme for tutorial purposes. PERIOD.

I think my remix/cover of Beanbean Castle might work.

My levelend music is pre-tutorial. Great for as soon as they download it.

You might also want some songs that actually have true musical notation along with it.

One example would be my attachments labeled as La Catedral.

If you want something ultra simplistic, why not actually cover a public domain song like La Cucaracha (also attached)? Everyone knows public domain songs like that.

Thanks, Demick12.

You know what; it would make much more sense if there were some sort of level system for different tutorial songs (for example, using basic songs like La Catedral & others for beginners, while using more advanced songs like those made by you & the other forum members for intermediate or advanced users).

Of course, the music notation does help, but I feel that it's only helpful to beginners (considering that you really don't need to have a traditional musical background to learn tracking).

There are some issues, actually: (given newcomers usually rush before pressing F1)
1) A newcomer may not know how to use the channel volume column.
2) A newcomer may not know how to create a proper instrument. (that said, using the channel volume column solely to create expressions in a song with 51.428571 BPM is not the way)
3) A newcomer may not know the hexadecimal system used in various places.

So what? 'FamiTracker for Dummies'. At least it looks more attracting than the help file.

You know, I just thought of this, but, maybe on first use you would pick a tutorial song to run or to skip it and the tutorial songs would all be easy-to-reproduce/easy-to-make-better-versions-of songs. All containing step tutorials. Kinda like a basic effects song, and advanced effects song, a manual effects song and some sample instruments. Yes, I do notice that this is longer that my usual posts.

i think it'd be cool to include all of my songs because i want the attention/people to hear them when they download famitracker but i don't want to say that outright in the thread so instead i'll just post suggesting my tracks be included as a means of helping newcomers learn how to use FT.

amidoinitright?
