Hello people of the Famitracker forums.

I have wondered how people come up with amazing songs they have composed.

Do you good composers out there start with an original percussion? Bass? or lead?

Also how do people recreate a song perfectly in Famitracker with out missing anything? it seems very hard to get the right tempo, speed, and instruments for perfect accuracy...

My music isn't all that great, but the same goes for me, plus the desire I have to learn & experiment.

I just come up with the songs, in the case of my originals. Have you ever had some random tune come up in your mind while you were doing something, gargledembawls? Because I have; I try my best to remember them & track them in FamiTracker. That way, I don't need to look like a complete nut case (note the complete) & whistle the tune out loud. :P

Plus, I get to hear that song I thought of (& created) in a way that appeals to others.

Honestly, it's different for every person. You'll just have to hit and miss until you find your style.

Took almost a year for me lmao

For me, a good melody is the most important thing.

For me, I put stuff that sounds good together and if it sounds right, I build a song on it using the thing that sounds good and some other things. So far the longest song I've ever made in any program was less then a minute long.

sometimes I like to let it play at a random tempo, and then hit random notes trying to stay within a key. and it parts of it sound even remotely good, i'll work upon that (in famitracker).
another thing I do, is listen to a metronome and then come up with a rhythm for the percussion. than i'll come up with a harmony or something.
the two concert band pieces I'm working on have been started with improvised piano.

I write my music the same way David Wise writes his music. I get a combination of notes in my head and if I think it sounds good I write it down on a music program but if I think it will turn out sounding bad then I don't write it down.
